In this course we will use the full power of Visual Studio Online to create a product backlog, develop an Azure-based application, build, deploy, load test, and monitor our application.
This information can be gathered about applications running on your own servers via an agent, or your application running on Azure. In addition to that, you are able to use the new Application Insights functionality to get access to telemetry and diagnostics information about your application. The fact that Visual Studio Online runs on Azure, gives you access to additional functionality such as Cloud-based load testing that allows you to use the power of Azure to load test your application by scaling out the number of virtual users that are used during the tests.
So basically, you get all the functionality that you would get with an on-premises installation of TFS.
Visual Studio Online gives you the ability to create and manage your product backlog, prioritize your workload, create iterations or sprints, create tasks associated with your backlog, create test plans and test cases to test your product backlog items, of course use version control with the options to use either Team Foundation Version Control or Git, associate your version control changesets to your work items, manage any bugs generated by your code changes, create automated builds, including Continuous Integration and scheduled builds, and deploy your code.
